What does switching energy suppliers involve?
Switching your energy supplier sounds complicated, but it’s not. Suppliers want your business and will take care of everything for you when you switch to their service. You just have to decide which deal you want.
Shopping around
It’s strange how most of us will spend hours hunting around for the best deal on a new camera or TV, but we refuse to do the same for many of the services we take for granted. But, with over 15 energy suppliers to choose from, there’s no reason to settle for an overpriced gas and electricity bill.
Many suppliers offer various deals too, such as discounts for managing your account online or paying by Direct Debit. Or, plans for the over 60s. The question is - are you getting the best deal for your needs? If you’ve never reviewed your energy supplier, then the answer is ‘probably not’.
Compare and switch energy suppliers now.

Switching myth buster
If, like many others, you’re worried about switching, read on, because there’s nothing to fear. It’s simple and risk-free.
Myth 1: I will lose my energy service
Your service will not be disrupted, even if you switch to green electricity. It’s the same pipes and wires. The only change you will notice is to your bill.
Myth 2: I will be charged twice
You won’t be. Your new supplier will liaise with your old supplier to arrange a switch date. Your old supplier will sort out your balance up to this date and then the new one will take over. But you should cancel your Direct Debit with your bank just to be sure.
Myth 3: Results are inaccurate
Our comparison service uses the latest prices, so you can be confident you are getting an accurate quote.
Myth 4: I‘m paying for a middleman
Our free service has no hidden charges. You would get exactly the same rate if you went directly to the supplier. And we often have access to exclusive deals only available on our site. If you do switch through us, we get a commission for introducing you to the supplier.
Myth 5: It‘s too much hassle
Actually, it couldn’t be easier. Switching energy suppliers will take you about five to ten minutes from start to finish. You switch online and then the supplier does it all, from setting up your new account to cancelling your old supplier.
